France at New Delhi World Book Fair 2017

Institut Français India in collaboration with the Bureau International de l'Edition Française (BIEF) participate along with other French publishers from France in the NDWF 2017.

New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) held for the past 43 years, is now a major calendar event in the publishing world. NDWBF 2017 will take place from 7th to 15th January 2016 at the centrally located Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The French Pavilion located Hall 7A, stall 1 to 6, will display the latest collection of French books across Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children’s Books, Art, Fashion, Lifestyle, Comic Books and Graphic Novels, Photography, Cookbooks and more!

 

Programme:

7th January, 6.30 pm, Oxford Book Store, N-81 Connaught Place. 

“Illutrated Books : professional meet”. A set of discussions about comics books / graphic novels, coffee table books, self-help and DIY books, dictionaries, children’s books. Biography - Etienne Bonnin (Glénat)

After studying commerce, Etienne Bonnin started working for Glénat in 2006. He is in charge of the department of foreign rights since 2014.

Glenat is a 48-year-old independent graphic novel publishing company which publishes over 300 titles a year. Its catalogue of over 8,000 titles includes historical sagas, science fiction, adventure, biographies, non-fiction, humor, children’s books and much more for all readers of all ages.

Biography - So Taniuchi (Bayard)

After having graduated Sciences Po Paris (Institute of Political Science) and a Master’s Degree in Publishing (University of Paris XIII), So Taniuchi joined Groupe Bayard in 2003 to look after foreign rights sales. Now acting as Intl Rights Deputy Director, she is focusing on identifying and developing strategic business opportunities on the international field.

Created in 1873, Bayard is an independent and renowned international multimedia group, a leading children’s books publisher and magazine publisher with 143 magazines worldwide with 36 million readers. It plays a key role in the field of education providing socially and environmentally responsible content, fostering cultural diversity and ethical values.

Biography - Jean-François Richez (Larousse)

Jean-François Richez has been foreign rights Manager with Larousse for many years, after various international experiences in publishing fields linked to education and knowledge.

Since 1852, major French publisher of encyclopedia and bilingual dictionaries as well as children’s illustrated nonfiction and fiction books, cookbooks, craft books, with a strong history, gardening, art, and health and wellbeing list.

Biography - Kate Mascaro (Flammarion)

Kate Mascaro, Editorial Director of Illustrated Books in English at Flammarion, has been with the Parisian house since 2002, where she published, notably, the New York Times and international best seller Parisian Chic by Ines de la Fressange.  In her previous role at Harvard Business School Publishing, she launched the company's e-book program in the late 1990’s. She also worked at Little, Brown and at book packager Books by Design in Boston, and at Medieval & Renaissance Texts and Studies. She has led luxury bike tours in French wine country and contributed to the Paris segment of the gastronomic travel site Bitesee.

Leading Paris-based publisher Flammarion, founded in 1875, became a subsidiary of Madrigall in 2012. Its distinguished imprints publish in the areas of literature, art, cultural heritage, lifestyle, health and wellbeing, science, social sciences, atlases, paperbacks, comic books, children’s, and humor.
